چکیده
The ear molds and shells of hearing devices are generally designed using impressions. Computed tomography (CT) can provide information concerning structure, which be utilized in computer-aided design to create devices. This study aimed compare the differences either impressions or CT images. chip a cartilage conduction (CC) device was based on impression images patients with aural atresia. Three bilateral (n = 1) unilateral 2) atresia participated this study. aided thresholds subjective evaluations were compared. There no serious problems use device, remarkable observed regarding their respective audiological benefits. Regarding patient preferences, aid via imaging better three ears two patients, whereas wearing comfort transducer for impression. evaluation appearance varied among cases. Finally, that findings purchased one patient. CC

Computed Tomography Staging of Middle Ear Cholesteatoma
BACKGROUND To establish computed tomography (CT) staging of middle ear cholesteatoma and assess its impact on the selection of the surgical procedure. MATERIAL/METHODS Prospective study was conducted on 61 consecutive patients (mean age 26.8 years) with middle ear cholesteatoma. CT scan of the temporal bone and surgery were performed in all patients. CT staging classified cholesteatoma accord...
متن کاملThe Use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Assessing the Insertion of Bone Conduction Hearing Implants
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to compare postoperative cone beam CT (CBCT) imaging to implant stability quotient (ISQ) measurement and direct caliper measurements as a suitable technique to assess bone conduction hearing implant (BCHI) seating and insertion depth. METHODS In vitro, BCHIs were completely (n = 9) and partially inserted (n = 9) in bone blocks of different densities and subsequently...
متن کاملComparison of Spiral Computed Tomography and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography
Imaging is a highly dependent technology in the clinical assessment of a patient. With respect to the dental field, imaging has travelled a long way from the conventional radiographs to modern techniques like the computed tomography (CT) and the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). This article describes the evolution made in the CT in the field of dental imaging and attempts to compare the CT...
متن کاملInner ear contribution to bone conduction hearing in the human.
Bone conduction (BC) hearing relies on sound vibration transmission in the skull bone. Several clinical findings indicate that in the human, the skull vibration of the inner ear dominates the response for BC sound. Two phenomena transform the vibrations of the skull surrounding the inner ear to an excitation of the basilar membrane, (1) inertia of the inner ear fluid and (2) compression and exp...
متن کاملComparison of transportation and centering ability using RECIPROC and iRace: A cone-beam computed tomography study
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Root canal treatment, especially in curved and constricted root canals, can be very difficult and time consuming. Several investigations have compared the reciprocating and full sequence motions in terms of shaping ability. The purpose of the present study was to compare the root canal transportation and centering ability of RECIPROC and iRace using cone-beam computed tomogr...
